COURTLAND BRESNER
Acoustic Blues Guitar & Vocals
Courtland has been playing blues guitar since the late 1970s. Courtland played acoustic blues initially but moved to electric Chicago style blues but returned to his acoustic roots in the mid 1990s. He has been influenced by the masters of the delta blues Charlie Patton, Tommy Johnson, Willie Brown, Son House and Robert Johnson. Songs are played in standard and bottleneck styles. His slide playing echoes the sounds of the past, from sensitive and mournful through to the strident and urgent. He has been performing for a number of years.
Hobbies include touring the USA and documenting the grave sites and habitats of the first generation blues players.
